Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about BellyTap

Kick Counter

Q:When should I start counting baby kicks?

Doctors generally recommend starting kick counting around week 28 of pregnancy, although some mothers may feel movements from week 20. BellyTap allows you to start tracking when you feel comfortable.

Q:How many kicks should I feel per day?

Most doctors recommend feeling at least 10 movements in 2 hours during the third trimester. However, each baby has their own pattern. BellyTap helps you identify your baby's unique pattern with trend analysis.

Q:How do I use the kick counter?

1) Press 'New Session' on the main screen. 2) Sit or lie down in a quiet place. 3) Tap the TAP button each time you feel a movement. 4) The timer automatically records the time. 5) Press 'Finish' when you've counted 10 movements or after 2 hours.

Q:What counts as a movement?

Count kicks, flutters, jabs, or rolls. You don't need to count hiccups. If you're unsure, consult with your doctor about which movements to count.

Wellness Tracking

Q:Why is it important to track my wellness?

Tracking mood, energy, sleep, and symptoms helps you identify patterns and share important information with your doctor. It also allows you to see how your wellness relates to baby movements.

Q:What does each wellness category mean?

• Mood: Record how you feel emotionally (Very Happy to Very Sad) • Energy Level: Scale of 1-5 of your daily vitality • Sleep Quality: Rate your nightly rest (1-5) • Symptoms: Checklist of common pregnancy symptoms • Weight: Optional tracking of weight changes

Q:How often should I log my wellness?

We recommend at least one daily entry for better trend analysis. With the Premium plan, you can make unlimited entries to capture changes throughout the day.

Plans and Subscription

Q:What's the difference between Basic and Premium plans?

Basic Plan (Free): 3 kick sessions per day, basic history, 3 wellness entries. Premium Plan (price varies by region): Unlimited sessions, advanced analysis with detailed charts, CSV/JSON data export, unlimited wellness entries. Pricing is shown in your local currency on the App Store.

Q:How do I upgrade to Premium?

Go to Settings > Subscription and select the Premium plan. The subscription is managed through your App Store account and renews automatically each month.

Q:Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime from iPhone Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. You'll continue to have Premium access until the end of the current billing period.

Data and Privacy

Q:Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud unless you manually export it. You have complete control of your information.

Q:Can I export my data?

Yes, with the Premium plan you can export all your information in CSV or JSON format. This is useful for sharing with your doctor or backing up your data.

Q:What happens if I change phones?

We recommend exporting your data before changing devices. Local data doesn't transfer automatically. In future updates we'll add optional iCloud synchronization.

Q:What iOS version do I need?

BellyTap requires iOS 15.0 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone but also works on iPad.
